Science Fair Journal Entry Due: Wendesday November 7, 2012
Your next Science Fair journal entry should begin with these questions:
- What am I interested in?
- What questions do I want to know the answer to?
- What problems do I see in the world/home/school that I think need to be solved?
From your answers you should have a better idea of what you could possibly study for science fair. Do you want to create a recycling or composting program for the school? Do you want to design a remote control finder for your grandmother who always loses it? Are you interested in genetic inheritance? Are you interested in plant grow or organic urban farming? Do you want to survey people about the amount of time they spend on Facebook vs. doing homework? Do you want to challenge the lunch program and its limited options?
Science Fair Topics should be big and broad enough that you can research the many parts and pieces of your topic. Ideas that are too small limit your research possibilities. They also limit how interesting your project will be as time goes on. Propose a topic that is uniquely interesting to you! Remember, Science Fair scores are based on effort. Choose a topic you want to put your energy into.
