We are growing lettuce, catnip. basil, cilantro, Swiss chard, and oregano. They started from seed exactly a week ago! Look how they have grown! We added water today. The lettuce is growing the fastest. The cilantro is growing the worst right now. Some of them are small and some are big and they all grow a different way. The Swiss chard stem is RED!!! and they don't have many leaves yet which makes them unique. They have fuzzy white coming out of the bottom, which Ms. A says are root hairs. Growing plants is fun! You should start growing plants. Check back next week!
Click on the pictures for full size :) Thank you Liana for planing our first crop of the year!!! We have Basil, catnip, lettuce, oregano, cilantro and swisschard germinating in the germination station! Great job today.
The hydroponics team plants the last crop of the year! Lettuce, basil, and parsley. These guys can mix a 0.6 EC solution of plant food, tear rock wool to fit in the hydroponics unit, and problem solve/trouble shoot when water starts spraying from a hose that came loose. Good work young scientists! |
